Volunteers of America Colorado Branch Public Policy Initiative
The Public Policy Initiative purpose is to affect change through education and legislative advocacy. The Volunteers of America Colorado Branch seeks to identify and serve the basic needs of the most vulnerable individuals and families in the communities we serve. Addressing emerging community needs is the aim of Volunteers of America Colorado Branch.
The organization’s overriding goal is to adapt the services provided to help meet the most basic human needs of those served: food, shelter, clothing and counseling, while at the same time enhancing the capacity for self-sufficiency of each individual. The aging population, homeless individuals and families, victims of domestic violence, as well as children and at-risk youth, have been the major focus of the efforts of Volunteers of America Colorado Branch.
The vision: “We will go wherever we are needed and do whatever comes to hand” is embodied in the variety of services provided to the most vulnerable and frail members of the community. Our organization believes that every man, woman and child should be treated with respect and dignity and not only receive the individualized supports they need, but also the hope they deserve to work towards self-reliant lives.
