Have an extra car you are not sure what to do with?
Don’t want to go through the expense of
fixing it up
just to sell it? Not that excited about going through the
classifieds and having buyers drop by the house?
You’ll get a tax write-off, free removal of the car, and
the personal satisfaction of
helping those less fortunate.
Give your car to the Volunteers of America!

 To donate your vehicle call:
1-877-VOA-1CAR
1-877-862-1227

Want to Donate? Here are key facts you need to know:

The license plate will need to be removed from the vehicle.

All donated vehicles must have keys and title available at time of pickup.

Title will need to be signed and notarized before the vehicle is picked up
(We will assist you in preparing your title for transfer).

The tow truck driver will provide you with a Vehicle pick-up receipt.
You will receive an acknowledgement letter describing that a vehicle
was donated to Volunteers of America.
No vehicles will remain in the name of the donor.
We usually don't "scrap out" or "part out" donated vehicles, so we generally only accept cars that are in running or nearly-running condition. In order to be a good steward of our resource, we must decline cars that might cost us to do major repairs, have difficulty selling, or would return
a net loss in proceeds after auction.
All vehicle/boat donations are sold at auction, with funds coming to Volunteers of America Colorado Branch.  We do not keep any vehicles, nor make "significant intervening use".
Volunteers of America cannot, by law, provide a value for any in-kind contribution. However, vehicle values can be found in many resources, including the Kelley Blue Book and Edmunds, located at any library,
on the internet, or by contacting your tax advisor.

Did you know that vehicle donation rules have changed?

Under the old (through 2004) law, you were allowed to deduct the fair market value for your vehicle (in most cases). Starting in 2005, the law only allows a deduction equal to the gross proceeds from the sale of the vehicle - IF you are claiming over $500.

For more detailed information, read a message from the IRS, as well as
IRS Publication 4303-A... and always consult your tax advisor (Volunteers
of America is not authorized to provide advise on tax tips regarding vehicle donations, so please consult with your tax advisor for more details about these issues).
