Volunteers of America
provides nutrition services
to persons 60 years of age or older, |
|
at congregate
dining centers throughout the region
Dining Centers |
|
or delivered to
the residences of those who are homebound.
Meal on Wheels |
| Services include: |
|
• Delicious meals
designed to meet the nutritional needs of older adults;
• Comprehensive nutrition education to help older adults
maintain or
improve their health and well-being;
• Information about (and assistance in accessing) other
community
services for older adults;
• Daily or weekly contact with friendly volunteers;
• Many interesting and beneficial activities at the congregate
dining
centers to keep participants healthy and active, and involved with
their
friends and their community. |
The
Volunteers of America Meals on Wheels Program and Congregate
Dining Center Program are funded in part by the Denver Regional
Council
of Governments Aging Services Division. They are part of the
continuum of care provided through the Older Americans Act to
eligible older adults
in Adams, Arapahoe, Clear Creek, Denver, Douglas, Gilpin and
Jefferson
counties. |
