“I see Meals on Wheels delivery as a great opportunity to give
without anything in return being tied to it. It takes so little time and
effort to do it. When I see how much the recipients appreciate it,
I know that I'm making a difference in someone's life.”
–Perry, Meals On Wheels volunteer

Meals on Wheels
Experience the personal satisfaction that comes from serving those who need and appreciate your help. Homebound seniors all over the Denver metro area depend on Meals on Wheels for what may be their only meal of the day

Monday through Friday routes are available for pick-up throughout the metro area. Saturday routes (frozen meals) are picked up at the Volunteers of America kitchen, located at 2660 Larimer St.

Families, civic, church, and business groups are encouraged to take on a Meals on Wheels route to deliver as a group -or- on alternating days, to encourage team building or to satisfy a need to help those in the community who are less fortunate.

All volunteers are screened through a background check, which includes a check of criminal history.
Other Volunteering Opportunities:

City Harvest

"The thankful words and gestures from the clients I see each Friday provide immediate happiness and a lasting sense of purpose. If I was a family member of an elderly individual in need, I'd certainly rest easier knowing competent, friendly volunteers were tending to my loved one. That thought alone is reason enough to participate and make a difference."
–Paul, Meals On Wheels volunteer
