Corporate Volunteerism Takes Center Stage as Waste Connections and VOA Colorado Team Up to Fight Hunger Among Veterans
DENVER (April 16, 2025) – In a powerful demonstration of community collaboration, Waste Connections of Colorado delivered $7,500 worth of food to Volunteers of America (VOA) Colorado’s Veterans Service Center on April 3. The donation, made possible through the generosity of Waste Connections of Colorado’s front-line employees, supports veterans experiencing homelessness and food insecurity in the Denver metro area.
The donation drive and delivery were part of Waste Connections of Colorado’s commitment to giving back during National Volunteer Month, a time to spotlight acts of service and community support nationwide. The truckload of non-perishable food was delivered to the Veterans Service Center, where VOA staff welcomed the donation.
“We’re incredibly proud of what our team was able to raise this year to support the VOA and its mission, nearly doubling the amount of money and food raised this year than the year prior,” said Patrick Draisey, District Manager for Waste Connections. “Supporting those who have served our country is the least we can do, and working with VOA Colorado allows us to make a real difference, right here in our community.”
