During National Volunteer Month, a powerful act of generosity illuminated VOA Colorado’s Veterans Service Center. Thanks to the unwavering spirit of Waste Connections of Colorado and its dedicated team members, a truckload of hope—$7,500 worth of non-perishable food—was delivered to support veterans facing homelessness and food insecurity.
For Waste Connections, giving back is more than a moment—it’s a mission. Their front-line employees personally rallied together to double their impact from the previous year, showing what’s possible when a company leads with heart. This act of service embodies the very spirit of National Volunteer Month: lifting others through compassion and collective action.
“We’re incredibly proud of what our team was able to raise to support VOA Colorado and its mission,” said Patrick Draisey, District Manager for Waste Connections. “Supporting those who have served our country is the least we can do. Working with VOA allows us to make a real difference, right here in our community.”
At VOA Colorado, the Veterans Service Center is a lifeline—providing food, housing, and a pathway to stability for those who served. Thanks to the kindness and volunteer spirit of Waste Connections, that lifeline is stronger.
“This donation is not just about food—it’s about dignity, respect, and the power of community,” said Faustine Curry, Vice President of Advancement and Marketing for VOA Colorado. “Waste Connections and its people have shown our veterans they are seen, valued, and never forgotten.”
Waste Connections’ devotion to volunteerism shines brightly, a reminder that when we come together, we do more than meet needs—we spark hope, transform lives, and build stronger communities for all.
